Psalm 116:17 The Sacrifice of Thanksgiving

Psalm 116:17 (KJV) I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the LORD.

The psalmist in gratitude towards the LORD asked in Psalm 116:12 (KJV) What shall I render unto the LORD for all his benefits toward me?

In response, he offered in thanksgiving to the LORD. It was a sacrifice of thanksgiving because his offering was weighted and substantial. It was what he cheerfully and willingly offered to the LORD.

What was the matter for thanksgiving? Salvation and deliverance by the LORD – Psalm 116:13 (KJV) I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the LORD. Amen.
