1 Thessalonians 5:22-23 Abstain From All Appearance of Evil
1 Thessalonians 5:22-23 (KJV) Abstain from all appearance of evil. And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
In another verse it says, “Giving no offence in any thing, that the ministry be not blamed”. It is not just to abstain from evil but what seemed to be wrong, where there is some reasonable doubt to be wrong. What it is not easy to determine in the case whether it is right or wrong (Barnes).
Care is taken not to err by appearing to support may not seemed evil but there is a possibility of an evil element in it. Take time o examine carefully before making a plunge to support that of a doubt disputation.
That the Christian testimony, the precious honour of Christ and His glory be our constant priority. Amen.
