Psalm 63:1 Early Will I Seek Thee
Psalm 63:1 (KJV) A Psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Judah. O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;
The psalmist whilst in the wilderness felt an acute need to draw close to God for the nourishment of his soul. This he does early so that his soul will be fortified, strengthened for the hard ground of the wilderness, which he had to contend with for his present survival.
In the wilderness, finding sources of water will be a challenge. He sought the guidance of God to direct him to needful water source so that he may not perish in a dry and thirsty land. He sought God to still his heart to trust Him amidst clear depravity to find the nourishment he needed.
It is in such trying times that God showed Himself trustworthy and faithful – Psalm 63:2 (KJV) To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.
May God be glorified as His people wait upon Him for every need. Amen.
