Psalm 125:2 So the LORD Is Round About His People

Psalm 125:2 (KJV) As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the LORD is round about his people from henceforth even for ever.

The LORD’s protection upon His people are likened to the mountains that are round about Jerusalem, making it a fortified fortress. And the thought is of security and thus a restfulness on the part of God’s people under God’s care.

Invading armies will have to overcome the rough fortifications before they can ever reach the city of Jerusalem. An illustration to help God’s people see that gracious provision of God for their protection. Himself is our protection. It is imperative that we abide in Him and not wander off from Him.

It is a picture of comfort and of strength that God’s people experienced in their life with God. All praise and glory to Him. Amen.
