1 John 3:1-3 When He Shall Appear
1 John 3:1-3 (KJV) Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.
The reality of our faith in Christ acknowledges the Apostle John is the fact that we shall be like Christ at His coming. We shall be given a resurrection body like the body of Christ, we shall be like Him.
And this is the privilege of being the sons of God. The world may scoff at His people because they knew Him not and cannot appreciate God’s work in their lives.
But for the people of God, knowing that we shall one day see our Lord face to face would encourage and strengthen us holy lives befitting our calling as the sons of God. Amen.
