Psalm 119:116 Delight and Not Forget

Psalm 119:16 (KJV) I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word.

The psalmist with conviction and consecration committed himself to obey the commands and admonitions of God’s Word. By delighting in His statutes, the psalmist knows what God commands and prohibits. He seeks to obey and not forget what God stipulated in His Word.

How will he do that? Psalm 119:15 (KJV) I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways.

He seeks the LORD so that he may be instructed – Psalm 119:12 (KJV) Blessed art thou, O LORD: teach me thy statutes.

In so doing, he finds peace and rest for his soul. Amen.
