2 Thessalonians 2:13-14 Chosen to Salvation
2 Thessalonians 2:13-14 (KJV) But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The Apostle Paul rejoices that God has saved souls in Thessalonica and thus a gathering of believers to form the church at Thessalonica. It was a matter of much thanksgiving to see the Holy Spirit at work to convict and save souls so that these would wholeheartedly embrace the truth of the gospel and thus be partakers of heaven.
Earlier in the First Epistle to the Thessalonians, the Apostle Paul affirmed their election of God – 1 Thessalonians 1:4 (KJV) Knowing, brethren beloved, your election of God.
The end of the salvation is glorification when we meet our Saviour face to face at Christ’s return to gather His church. Amen.
