John 16:14 He Shall Glorify Me

John 16:14 (KJV) He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

Christ speaks these words with reference to the Holy Spirit who will come and glorify Him, helping Christ’s disciples to discern and ascertain the truth – John 16:13 (KJV) Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

The Holy Spirit will show Christ to Christ’s disciples after He was ascended to heaven – John 16:15 (KJV) All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

Christ will soon be sent to the cross to be crucified. He will rise from the dead and be ascended to heaven to be at the right hand of the Father – John 16:16 (KJV) A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me, because I go to the Father.

He prepares His disciples to receive the Holy Spirit, which is the Spirit of Christ that the church today have full access in Christ. Amen.
