1 John 5:4 For Whatsoever Is Born of God Overwhelmeth the World

1 John 5:4 (KJV) For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

There is victory over the world for the children of God. The “born of God” overcometh the world. The overcoming is undergirded by faith in God as attested by His written Word.

Jesus tells His disciples, “Be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” Abiding in Christ, the children of God can distinguish the world by the Word, and avoid its pitfalls.

There is a sanctified choice in obedience to Christ and His commandments therefore there is always victory for the children of God who live by faith. Amen.
