Luke 10:19 Behold, the Lord Protects His Servants
Luke 10:19 (KJV) Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
Our Lord Jesus told His disciples who were sent out to preach the gospel that His power will go with them to accomplish the mission of saving souls.
Three points of safety were highlighted. The first was that serpents and scorpions shall not hurt them. This was the experience of the Apostle Paul when he was stranded in the island of Malta after a shipwreck. He did not die by the fatal bite of a poisonous snake. The second is over all the power of the enemy. The enemies of the gospel cannot prevail against the heralders of the gospel because they are protected by the Lord. Thirdly, is a general promise of protection from harm and danger in the course of the gospel work.
Jesus say, “Lo, I am with you alway.” Praise God and let His people go forth to preach the gospel as the Holy Spirit leads them.” Amen.
