1 Peter 4:13 Partakers of Christ’s Sufferings

1 Peter 4:13 (KJV) But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.

The Apostle Peter says but as far as you are sharers in the sufferings of Christ, rejoice. The verb “sharers” or “partakers” speaks of a continual state of experiencing the pain of carrying the cross, following Christ, the believers are exhorted by command to rejoice. This is well worth the suffering.

There is a joy that will far surpass all the sufferings that believers goes through for Christ’s sake which will be revealed by Christ at His coming again. There is a recompense of reward for the faithful – Hebrews 10:35 (KJV) Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.

The contention is with the world, the flesh and Satan. This battle must be won. It is the glory of the saints when they see Christ. Therefore, subsisting in the midst of suffering, the believer is commanded to rejoice. Let His people – Rejoice. Amen.
