John 16:33 (KJV) These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

The word of encouragement from Christ to His disciples before He would be betrayed and crucified. Christ will undergo tribulation for the sake of His church so that the church may be purchased by the shedding of His precious blood for sins.

Christ rose from the dead the third day after His death, victorious over sin and death. He rightly said, I have overcome the world. So be of good cheer.

Whilst His church will face persecution, Christ assures His people that in Him that will have peace. The church can trust Christ to protect and persevere them by His intercession on their behalf before the Father. All praise to God. Amen.
