Psalm 16:7-9 Rest In Hope
Psalm 16:7-9 (KJV) I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons. 8 I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. 9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.
The psalmist was able to rest in hope for the resurrection of the dead. In the LORD, is the salvation of the soul. Therefore, the psalmist rejoices and was glad.
It was the LORD who was guiding and instructing the psalmist. He testifies that in the night seasons, the LORD was his mainstay. He has set the LORD always before him, he always first resort to seek the LORD – ask and it shall be given, seek and ye shall find, knock and it shall be open unto you.
The right hand is the place of favour. Because he had the LORD always before him, the LORD was his constant help. He faces life with a steady heart to the glory of the LORD. Amen.
