John 14:23 My Father Will Love Him

John 14:23 (KJV) Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

These words of Jesus were in answer to the question posted in John 14:22 (KJV) Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?

Those who will keep the words of Christ, are beloved of the Father and will be visited the Father and the Son. Earlier, our Lord predicted that after His ascension, the Holy Spirit will be send forth to comfort the disciples – John 14:16-17 (KJV) And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; 17Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

Tremendous promises of God to comfort and strengthen the faith of the disciples who will not have their Lord with them in person for He would soon go to the cross. May Christ’s disciples love Him and keep His words, remembering the sacrifice of Christ for our sins. Amen.
