Romans 6:4 Walk in Newness of Life

Romans 6:4 (KJV) Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

In baptism, it is symbolic that the believer is buried with Christ who died for our sins. And it is also symbolic of His resurrection three days later from the dead. Sin and death has been dealt with when we receive by faith Christ’s finished work of atonement on our behalf.

When our sins have been forgiven because of what Christ has done on our behalf in His crucifixion unto death, we are freed from the bondage of sin. Sin no longer has a stranglehold on our lives.

We have the strength of the new life that is the resurrection life. When the disciples saw and beheld the risen Christ, there was great joy and excitement to share that news with others. More than this, to experience the power to resist every sin by the help of the indwelling Holy Spirit. All praise and glory to our great God and Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen.
