1 Corinthians 2:16 We Have the Mind of Christ

1 Corinthians 2:16 (KJV) For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

The Apostle Paul was referring to the prophet Isaiah wrote in Isaiah 40:13 (KJV) Who hath directed the Spirit of the LORD, or being his counseller hath taught him?

None can know the understand God unless he is taught by the Spirit of God. Here, the Apostle Paul is saying that the believer can understand God because of the Holy Spirit indwelling him teaching him the things of God. The Holy Spirit is none other than the Spirit of Christ, the Comforter, who reveals the truth to the believer.

John 14:16-17 (KJV) And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; 17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

And thus, the mind of Christ, is the Holy Spirit illuminating the believer to understand the Word of God, and to affirm the truth in humble obedience. Amen.
