Hebrews 2:15 Christ Delivered His People

Hebrews 2:15 (KJV) And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

The context reads as follows in Hebrews 2:14 (KJV) Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;

It has reference to Christ and His work on the cross when He died, sin and death, the devil was destroyed. Therefore, the evil one is a defeated enemy to the Christian.

Christ delivered His people from the fear of death because He conquered death by His resurrection from the dead three days after He died. Christ delivered from the bondage of sin and the power of the devil to enslave. Christ delivered His people from death itself by their resurrection in the last day. Amen.
