Colossians 2:13-14 Salvation in Christ
Colossians 2:13-14 (KJV) And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
The Apostle Paul explained well the lost estate of the sinner, who is in total bondage to sin, fulfilling the lust of the flesh till Christ bestow upon him the new life, that is spiritual life.
In according the sinner this new life, he is forgiven all his transgressions against God, Christ fulfilled the law on his behalf by His perfect life on earth hence blotting out the indictment of God’s commandments against him.
Christ accomplished this redemption work for the sinner by being nailed to the cross to bear his sins – Isaiah 53:5 (KJV) But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
What a wonderful Saviour is Jesus Christ our Lord! Amen.
