John 17:2 Power Over All Flesh

John 17:2 (KJV) As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.

The Father in heaven has given Christ power over all flesh, that is, all men, that they might be saved. Salvation means receiving eternal life.

This power is effectual for all men whom the Father has ordained to eternal life. As many as these would hearkened to the call and receive Christ, thus accorded life everlasting.

John 17:3 (KJV) And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. Amen.
