Romans 8:2 Free From the Law of Sin and Death

Romans 8:2 (KJV)  For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. 

The believer is made free, released from the bondage of sin and death when he believes Christ’s atoning death on the cross on his behalf and His resurrection from the dead three days later – Romans 8:1 (KJV)  There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 

When a man believes in Christ, the Holy Spirit comes and indwells that man. This is the Holy Spirit that gives spiritual life and guides the believer to love the laws of God and live a life that brings no condemnation. He bears the Holy Spirit’s fruit in the season of fruiting.

Romans 8:3-4 (KJV)  For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Amen.
