1 Corinthians 6:11 Washed, Sanctified, Justified

1 Corinthians 6:11 (KJV) And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

When a person believes in Christ, such a one is washed and cleansed from his sins by Christ’s blood. Christ’s sacrificial death paid the penalty for his sins by the shedding of His blood,

He is said to be “sanctified”, meaning “made holy”. In the sight of God, he is no longer an enemy but a child of God through the Lord Jesus. He is saved to have eternal life.

The Spirit of God, the Holy Spirit comes and indwells such a person. The Spirit of God is God’s seal of salvation. Amen.
