Psalm 19:14 Acceptable in the LORD’s Sight

Psalm 19:14 (KJV) Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.

The psalmist’s prayer is that the words of his mouth and the meditation of his heart be acceptable in the LORD’s sight. He understood out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. He therefore endeavours to keep his heart with all diligence by thinking pure thoughts.

The Apostle Paul said well on this point in Philippians 4:8 (KJV) Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Having been graciously redeemed and renewed with spiritual strength by Christ, the believer is thus sanctified through the continual and constant meditation of God’s Word. Amen.
