1 Peter 1:3-4 Begotten Unto a Lively Hope
1 Peter 1:3-4 (KJV) Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,
The salvation of the people of God is described by the Apostle Peter as “begotten”, “unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead”. Our hope as believers is lively, having an effervescing hope that kindles life in the soul to live an overcoming life against indwelling sin, Satan and the world.
We look forward to our change like unto the gloriously resurrected body of our Lord and to receive our inheritance in the Lord that is marvellously enduring, pure, and excellent. It is reserved in heaven for our receiving after we have completed our work on earth.
Let His people therefore live and go forth in the strength of the Lord for His glory daily for a day. Amen.
