Psalm 62:1-2 Truly My Soul Waiteth Upon God
Psalm 62:1-2 (KJV) To the chief Musician, to Jeduthun, A Psalm of David. Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation. 2 He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved.
The psalmist realized in the innermost recesses of his heart that his only hope is in God, whom he looks to for his salvation. He was soberly and earnestly seeking stability and security amidst instability and insecurity before him in his environment.
And yet in his heart, he knew that in the LORD, the dangers are not dangers because his LORD will protect and keep him. He affirms in his heart, I shall not be moved.
He saw that true safety is from the LORD and therefore he will look nowhere else but to the LORD, his rock and salvation. The LORD is his defence. Therefore, his people would seek to worship Him and look to Him. Amen.
