- The 7am Service into November 2024
Thank God for His grace for “The 7am Service” to enter the 5th month in the month of November 2024. In this month, we endeavour to study the Book of Deuteronomy by Mr Lucas Lek and the Gospel of John 18-21 followed by a closing message from Psalm 90 “So Teach Us to Number Our Days” by Pastor Lek on the 108 meeting, God willing!
(2) Homegoing of Brother Francis Chee
Brother Francis Chee, the husband of our Sister Josephine and their three boys, went home to be with the Lord on 5 November 2024. He was baptised on 19 July 2015 by our late Pastoral Advisor Rev Dr Tow Siang Hwa. The Lord comfort and strengthen the bereaved family.
Francis Chee’s Baptismal Testimony
Since 1995, I used to ferry my family to church. Sometimes my wife tried sharing the gospel with me by writing me notes or cards. My mother also came to know the Lord, so when she passed away in 2006, I was asked to choose a verse for her niche.
Acts 2:21 “And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Some Christian members of my family were amazed by the choice of the verse. During the funeral, I felt a presence of peace in my Christian members and a certainty of hope that my mother is in heaven.
After which my family members were baptised one after one another. I saw the changed lives of baptised family members. About that time, I decided to go church with my family and believe in God.
Since coming to know God, I am more at peace.
Thank God for the Gospel. It is the good news that God sent Jesus into the world to save us, sinners from the eternity of hell. To take a step to faith, I have decided to be baptized.
Recalling the Church Newsletter (Lord’s Day, Vol. 3 No. 29):
A Day of Rejoicing
In Matthew 28:18-20, our Lord Jesus Christ gave this Great Commission to His disciples before His ascension:
18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
It is in obedience to Christ’s commandment that we go forth with the good news of salvation in Jesus Christ alone!
By the grace of God, these brethren have decided to publicly confess faith in Jesus Christ in water baptism.
Water baptism does not save but is the outward sign of the faith that God has given to believers in their hearts.
Yours lovingly,
Pastor Lek Aik Wee
