Psalm 46:1 God Is Our Refuge and Strength
Psalm 46:1 (KJV) To the chief Musician for the sons of Korah, A Song upon Alamoth. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
There is help with the LORD. He is a very present help, He is at hand to help when His people come to Him. He is a refuge, there is protection and He is our strength, there is provision.
The extent of the trouble confronting the psalmist well illustrates life’s real encounters – Psalm 46:2-3 (KJV) Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; 3 Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.
God’s help in responding to the troublous predicament is well illustrated in Psalm 46:4-5 (KJV) There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High. 5 God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.
May His people come to Him always for His unfailing help. Amen.
