Psalm 18:35 Thy Shield, and Right Hand and Gentleness

Psalm 18:35 (KJV) Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy right hand hath holden me up, and thy gentleness hath made me great. 

The psalmist speaks of three things that the LORD was to Him. Firstly, the LORD accorded him salvation which he described as a protective shield from the snare of hell fire.

The LORD not only saves him but also upholds him by His right hand, the hand of authority that enables him to be sustained alluding to the intercessory work of Christ.

The LORD leads him with gentleness so that he may grow and has indeed grown. He gives thanks to the LORD for His nurturing care. Amen.
