Hebrews 12:2 (KJV) Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. 

Jesus leads the Christian race from beginning to end. He is the Author and Finisher of our faith.

Looking to Jesus means setting Him as our example. Jesus endured the cross, despising the shame and was exalted by the Father at the right hand of the throne of God.

Most of all, Jesus saw the joyful end of His sufferings, the redemption of sinful men which otherwise could not be accomplished. What is so good about men that Christ should give His all? It is the blessed communion of the saints, the bride with her bridegroom. Amen.
