1 Corinthians 15:54 This Corruptible Shall Have Put on Incorruption
1 Corinthians 15:54 (KJV) So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
The rapture of the church was the Apostle Paul’s focus in this verse when he said in 1 Corinthians 15:52 (KJV) In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
The new glorified body of the saints is well described as this corruptible body of ours but putting on incorruption. A momentous coming event in the future. The rapture of the church, the catching up of the church to glory!
This mortal must put on immortality, truly death has lost its stink, and death is swallowed in victory. The dead in Christ shall rise first and we who are alive shall caught up to meet the Lord in the air. Let His people be ready! Amen.
