Psalm 93:3-4 The Floods Have Lifted Up

Psalm 93:3-4 (KJV) The floods have lifted up, O LORD, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their waves. 4 The LORD on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, yea, than the mighty waves of the sea. 

The psalmist speaks of overwhelming odds coming upon him like floods threatening to sweep and drown everyone in their way. It was indeed precarious as he described it with increasing intensity- the floods have lifted up, the floods have lifted up their voice; the flood lift up their waves.

He was reassured in his heart that the noise of many waters and the mighty waves of the sea are no threat to the LORD who can protect His people. When our Lord Jesus was in the boat and there was a great storm that arose, He calmed the storm and stilled the waters much to the relief of His disciples.

So it is for His people, the floods and storms of life are not beyond the LORD’s help. The LORD on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, yea, than the mighty waves of the sea.
