1 Corinthians 2:12 (KJV) Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. 

It is the work of the Holy Spirit indwelling the believer that gives him the understanding to discern what is the will of God. This is what the Apostle Paul declares to God’s people.

The spirit of the world is the contrary factor leading the people of the world which the believer, by the illumination of the Holy Spirit, can distinguish. The temporal versus the eternal, the wood, hay and stubble of this world that will be burnt up when tested by Christ in the last time from the gold, silver and precious stone that the word of God declares will endure.

The truth of God’s Word is freely given and available when God’s people take time to read with prayer. May His wisdom be our daily portion. Amen.
