2 Timothy 1:17 He Sought Me Out Diligently
2 Timothy 1:17 (KJV) But, when he was in Rome, he sought me out very diligently, and found me.
The Apostle Paul speaks of Onesiphorus who came to Rome to minister to his needs during the time of his imprisonment. He gave specific commendations for the good work done for him – 2 Timothy 1:16 (KJV) The Lord give mercy unto the house of Onesiphorus; for he oft refreshed me, and was not ashamed of my chain:
This dear brother in the Lord was especially caring toward the Apostle Paul and he was much comforted and refreshed by the visitation of Onesiphorus to him in prison,
This good work encouraged and strengthened the work of the gospel through the Apostle Paul, enabling him to write this last letter to Timothy and the last epistle he would write before his martyrdom.
All praise and thanksgiving to our good God and Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen.
