Isaiah 40:31 They That Wait Upon the LORD Shall Renew Their Strength

Isaiah 40:31 (KJV) But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

There is a place of refreshing and strengthening in the LORD that His people may resort to in weariness of their trials. To wait is to hope, to wait is to rest, to wait is to pray.

The illustration of the eagle is wonderfully chosen as the eagle begins to soar in the air, there is a sense of its strength to fly freely and extensively as far as his stretch-out wings carry.

The strength that the LORD imparts is a supernatural endowment that defies physical limitations that are commonly thought impossible. In the strength of the LORD, He brings His servants through the distance. Amen.
