Psalm 56:3-4 What Time I Am Afraid, I Will Trust In Thee

Psalm 56:3-4 (KJV)  What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee. In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.

The words of the psalmist in the midst of fearful threats was that of faith in God. As Isaiah the prophet well paraphrased in Isaiah 38:14 (KJV)  Like a crane or a swallow, so did I chatter: I did mourn as a dove: mine eyes fail with looking upward: O LORD, I am oppressed; undertake for me.

With strength nigh weaned, he was determined in his heart to praise His Word, to put his trust in Him. With the refrain, “I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.”

Hebrews 13:6 (KJV)  So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me. Amen.
