Proverbs 3:34 (KJV)  Surely he scorneth the scorners: but he giveth grace unto the lowly. 

For those who despise God’s Word and the precious gospel, these scorners will be looked upon as they did with God’s Word. The Lord disapproves of their haughty spirit in making light of His Word.

However, for the lowly, who in humility and a sense of unworthiness, embraces God’s Word and the precious gospel, he shall be saved. The Lord giveth grace unto such a one.

Truly, as the psalmist well attest in Psalm 138:6 (KJV)  Though the LORD be high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly: but the proud he knoweth afar off. Amen.
