Isaiah 9:6 (KJV)  For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. 

Christ was born, God made flesh, the Son of God that entered human history. Christ was sent, graciously given by God, to bring peace to mankind in alienation from God, the Prince of peace against the prince of darkness.

Christ is the Captain of our salvation against the grand enemy, the grand architect of wickedness so that He might be the Prince of life and righteousness. Christ has to rule, first the hearts of men made tender, to humbly receive Him.

In Christ, therefore, is amazing grace for salvation, wisdom for life, power to help us do His will, the One who will neither leave nor forsake us. In Him is peace. Amen.
