2 Timothy 2:1 (KJV)  Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. 

The Apostle Paul says in Romans 5:1-2 (KJV)  Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:  2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 

Timothy was exhorted by the Apostle Paul to stand firm in the faith that is in Christ Jesus. For by faith is the access into this grace wherein he stands. And Timothy is exhorted to be stand strong in the faith for therein His grace abounds.

And not only so but to pass on the faith to faithful men – 2 Timothy 2:2 (KJV)  And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also. Amen.
